High Praise For Steve!

From Jim Michaels on the PDRacer Group:

After we get this one knocked out, I'll work on an OZ PDR for myself - take my time and strive to build it in a truly craftsmanlike manner.

Has anyone else seen the new paintjobs on the OZ PDR page?

That red-orange duck with the white interior struck me the same way I felt when I saw my first Schwinn Sting-ray bike as a kid, or '65 ragtop Mustang: The epitomy of class and fun - I want to build that boat.

But now, before my kids turn into teenagers and while they still want me to goof around with them, I think I'll build the boat we can build together most easily and get out on the water. The three of us together have outgrown the Sunfish, and with the quick PDR we can all be on the water at the start of this season, and maybe even catch a messabout at Rend lake.

Jim is of course talking about Steve Wagstaff's beautifully crafted boat that features in a few of our recent photos! Steve likes it a bit too!

We interrupt this blog

To announce that we've finally finished, or not exactly finished, but at least it's on it's way-

The Eureka Canoe Website

So when you've finished your PDRacer and want a bit of paddling in a backwater somewhere, or just want a bit of late night reading, feel free to pay us a visit there.

No need to worry, there are links directly back to here, so you're never far from home!

NEW! Storerboats and OZ PDR Forum

Well, I'm excited.

One of the biggest woodwork sites in the universe has decided that it is OK for the Storer Boat Plans FORUM to be on their site.

This is great because there is already a lot of Storer Stuff about

The EUREKA CANOE
The OZ PDRacer
The GOAT ISLAND SKIFF
BETH Sailing Canoe
The NEW ROWBOAT that is being built

There are builder's reports, places to ask questions, space to put photos.

See you there!

PHEW!

I'm fairly sure that all pages now work. All 195 of them! If the odd popup doesn't connect or if you see a bit of a discrepancy somewhere in the site, I'd appreciate contact either by email via one of the links in the pages or via the comments form below.

Hopefully I can fix a few upload glitches, and we'll be back to a monthly upload shortly!

Thanks for your patience!

Please accept my apology for the disruption!

Today, at last, I thought we had made all pictures clickable as promised so long ago, and indeed we had, until the site went live, and then they just for some reason default back to one picture of Michael checking fairness of a curve!

Of course we haven't yet got the words to go with them, so there's no great loss, but that would have happened this week providing we don't have any major issues with the current upgrade.

There are plenty of new articles and videos if you scan down this column.

The disruption extends to our other sites, the Two Foot, and Goat Island Skiff Pages particularly, so there may not be much sleep next weekend either!

If you poke around in the menu, you'll also see new sections on building spars, foils, sails, painting and repairs, although these are currently mostly pictures without accompanying text.

The One Minute Guide has now also got its links permanently to the relevant pages.

So... I'm feeling as though I haven't wasted all of the weekend at least!

Cheers,

P

After the Storer Boats BBQ

Duncan, who was one of the people that came along to the BBQ by the river on Australia Day decided to swap his affections from a kayak to an OZ PDRacer.

I was a little surprised to see this item suddenly appear on the Woodwork Forums only a few days after.

I have reproduced one of his pics right, but there are more in the thread above.

Nice to know another PDRacer is underway.
